    11 police personnel, 12 protesters injured in Ranchi clashes

    As many as 11 police personnel and 12 protesters injured during the day’s protest in Ranchi, news agency ANI reported. “They are being treated at various hospitals. As of now, situation under control. Forces deployed with senior police officers, including IG, superintendents of police, DSPs camping in the area,” Jharkhand Police said.

    109 people held in UP so far for protest over Prophet row 

    As many as 109 people have been arrested till 7.30pm of Friday for the massive protest that occurred in several parts of Uttar Pradesh. Of the 109 arrests, 38 have been done in Saharanpur, 24 in Hathras, 23 in Ambedkarnagar, 15 in Prayagraj, seven in Moradabad and two in Firozabad. Similar protests have been reported in many other states and UTs, including Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Karnataka, among others.

    A curfew has been imposed in some parts of Jharkhand’s violence-hit capital city of Ranchi, the district administration said on Friday. Prohibitory orders/section 144 have been imposed from “Sujata Chowk to Firayalal Chowk on Main road and 500 metres on either side of the road,” Ranchi deputy commisioner’s office said in a statement.
