Nine killed in car-truck collision in Andhra’s Anantapur district

The police said the truck was travelling at a high speed, when it lost control and rammed into the Toyota Innova car coming from the opposite direction. The car was badly mangled and the police had a tough time in removing the bodies of the victims from the vehicle. The lorry driver escaped from the spot.

Govt fixes glitch in new pension system, veterans relieved

Central government employees and pensioners are entitled to DR equivalent to 31{a78e43caf781a4748142ac77894e52b42fd2247cba0219deedaee5032d61bfc9} of their basic pay or pension. The glitch meant that retired colonels, for instance, were paid around 31,000 less than the usual and former lieutenant generals around 37,000 less.

DCGI grants emergency use permission to single-dose Sputnik Light Covid vaccine

“DCGI has granted emergency use permission to Single-dose Sputnik Light Covid-19 vaccine in India,” Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said. 

With the approval in India, more than 2.5 billion people globally could access Sputnik Light as a one-dose vaccine and “universal booster”, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said.

Schools, offices and markets to reopen as Bihar relaxes Covid-19 curbs

According to the orders issued by the home department in the light of the CMG meeting, all government and private offices will operate normally. However, only fully vaccinated people would be allowed entry. All operations of judicial institutions will be done as per the directions of the Patna high court.
