RDS Automotive Group buys Philadelphia-area Ferrari, Nissan dealerships

RDS Automotive Group expanded its portfolio of models — on both equally finishes of the spectrum — with acquisitions in late 2021 and early 2022.

The luxury-focused group not only acquired just one of the market’s rarest dealership offerings in Ferrari, it also purchased a primary-line volume dealership in Nissan.

RDS Automotive, of Newtown Sq., Pa., acquired its initial Ferrari dealership when it purchased Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia in Bryn Mawr, Pa., from Aleks Vekselberg on Dec. 23. Bryn Mawr is northwest of Philadelphia.

Vekselberg experienced owned the dealership due to the fact 2012, in accordance to its internet site. The keep dates to 1964.

RDS Automotive renamed the dealership Ferrari Philadelphia.

As of Jan. 1, there were just 14 unique Ferrari dealerships in the place and 46 all round franchises, according to estimates in Automotive News’ yearly dealership census.

And just days after RDS acquired the Ferrari dealership, it bought Alfa Romeo Newport Beach in Costa Mesa to MCA MIT 2 LLC on Dec. 28. That dealership moved to close by Irvine, Calif., and was renamed Irvine Alfa Romeo.

Nissan order

On Jan. 31, RDS Automotive bought its very first mass market place-brand dealership when it procured Devon Nissan in Pennsylvania.

The group acquired the keep from Steven Silverio, DiStanislao explained. The retail outlet was renamed Nissan of the Major Line. Devon is also northwest of Philadelphia.

In the beginning, DiStanislao planned to obtain the dealership for its authentic estate and use the home to market pre-owned supercars.

But soon after conference with Nissan executives, DiStanislao, who said he was amazed with the brand’s motivation to electric autos, adjusted his thoughts.

“The product or service line is terrific,” DiStanislao explained. “The Titan is terrific. The Rogue is wonderful. The Maxima is great. The cars just strike outstanding value, [a] excellent rate place, and it is wonderful for our prospects. I no longer have to sell them a 70,000-mile Audi A4. I could offer them a brand-new Sentra or Altima.”

Over and above acquisitions, RDS has been hectic with design tasks.

In Irvine, the team opened a dealership that houses Lamborghini and Bugatti. It really is also creating another, which will house McLaren, Koenigsegg and Automobili Pininfarina, established to open in the drop, DiStanislao stated.

On the East Coast, RDS in late 2021 held its grand opening ceremony for Lamborghini Greenwich in Connecticut, which Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann attended. A new facility for Lamborghini Philadelphia, now working out of the group’s Maserati dealership in Devon, is established to open in June. It also will be in Devon.

RDS is moving its Porsche of the Primary Line dealership in Newtown Sq. to a new 86,000-square-foot setting up with four ranges future doorway to the recent retailer. The new dealership is also established to open up in June.

Also, RDS Automotive was awarded an open level from Lotus and is concentrating on an open day of late summer months for a standalone dealership, DiStanislao noted, which will be located on the same campus as the Porsche dealership.
